Château Mongravey

MARGAUX
Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel

Owned by Vignobles Bernaleau, Chateau Mongravey perfectly illustrates the excellence of the terroirs of Margaux.

From a small vineyard of 2 hectares inherited in 1981, Régis Bernaleau acquires many parcels of vines in the town of Arsac thus constituting today a property of 12 hectares.

This mosaic of exceptional terroirs gives this vineyard all its typicity. Years of rigorous work, regularly praised by the international press, allowed Chateau Mongravey to become Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 2020 starting from vintage 2018.

In 2025, Château Mongravey is awarded Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel and starting from vintage 2023. This ranking crowns passionate work and testifies to the vision of our team combining respect for our terroirs and the desire for constant innovation.

Château Mongravey produces a complex, rich, and elegant wine where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend with balance and harmony.

Today, Régis, Jérôme, and Karin Bernaleau continue the adventure as a family, two generations putting their skills at the service of the magnificent terroirs of the prestigious Margaux appellation.

Vineyards and Terroirs

Our DNA
A Mosaic of Terroirs

Our 12 hectares of vines are divided into several plots made up of 9 parcels of vines.

This mosaic of gravel terroirs, grape varieties, vines of age varying between 20 and 60 years, offers us a wide aromatic palette.

Our vines flourish on Quaternary gravelly hilltops, rich in gravel and quarts pebbles, allowing soil drainage and heat restitution.

These conditions are ideal for perfect ripeness of the grappes. These variations combined with meticulous and precise work express all the finesse and complexity.

Environmental Commitment : Certified as High Environmental Value since 2017.

A reasoned culture, the withdrawal of all CMR products, mechanical weeding for more than 15 years, as well as a better management of the use of water and of the effluent treatment, show our commitment to preserve our vineyard for generations to come.
